Enhancement to subscription management settings
We have enhanced our subscription management capabilities to offer more granular control over billing cycle adjustments when updating pricing plans.
To support the enhancement, we are introducing two new settings at the contract level. These settings supplement the existing edition-level setting for managing subscription updates.
- Keep billing cycle when updating to a price plan of the same length: When you select this option, the billing date for a subscription will not change when updating to a pricing plan with a contract of the same length (such as updating from a monthly contract to another monthly contract).
- Keep billing cycle when updating to a price plan of a different length: When you select this option, the billing date for a subscription will not change when updating to a pricing plan with a contract of a different length (such as updating from a monthly contract to a yearly contract).
Prerequisite:
Before you select one of the options, ensure that the Keep billing cycle on pricing plan change edition level setting is enabled. It also becomes mandatory to select when the edition level setting is enabled.
Recommended configuration for NCE products:
For New Commerce Experience (NCE) products, we recommend the following setup:
- Keep billing cycle when updating to a price plan of the same length → Enabled
- Keep billing cycle when updating to a price plan of a different length → Disabled
Feature enablement
No feature enablement is required. The feature will be available by default in all marketplaces.
Setting enablement
Partners can proactively update their existing subscriptions through their AppDirect technical representative to align with the new settings.
